Dear Clients & Podcasters, I wish you a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2025.
For your podcast and content ventures, rather than growth, I wish they resonate enough with a group of people that they will not want to miss any of your future episodes.

Imagine being able to pick the brains of some of your favourite authors or thinkers in a specific field.
For example, I like Seth Godin in marketing. Hypothetically, I could hire him as a consultant. Then we’d need to work out timing, scope, fees if I could afford them (I expect I can’t) and more.
In practice, when I have a marketing question, I browse the web for answers. I also often look at what Seth's written about it. I don’t find direct answers, but he’s covered a huge amount of topics, so I can find something related to my search, and I also get a framework and a point of view I appreciate.
Like any research process, the downside is that it’s not immediately actionable.
Now what if I could load all of Seth’s writings on ChatGPT and ask precise questions?
It turns out that a few people have thought about it already. There are 23 Seth Godin-inspired GPTs.
I don’t know how thoroughly they have uploaded Seth’s writings (also is there any copyright issue?) and how truthful they are. I’ve tried one, which seemed good enough to replace most of my visits to the original source (Sorry, Seth), because I only use it superficially.
From a marketing perspective, I think this can also replace customer service (talk to an agent) and Q&A sections of websites. You can now upload all the previous questions and answers to a GPT, give them directions regarding the style of answers they provide, and instruct them to ask more questions based on circumstances, and you can set up a pretty good system. (I assume that it already works close to this, but I’m surprised about how frustrating the consumer experience remains.)
Creating a GPT from my podcast
My other channel is about investment management, and I keep referring to previous podcast conversations when exploring new investment questions.
The aim of the conversations I curated over the years is to have a skeptic’s perspective on investment topics that are carried by powerful narratives and excessive hype, such as Private Equity.
I’ve created a custom GPT based on relevant podcast transcripts, which I uploaded in “her” knowledge base.
This is the 1.0 version; I like to test and iterate, but I wanted to see how quick and easy it was to create it; it was very quick and easy without any programming.
It already provides questions that are differentiated from what the normal ChatGPT does; however, I realised that the answers were quite generic, and “she” was not exclusively using the knowledge base. This has been improved by configuring the instructions.
I will be adding content to the knowledge base and improving the configuration over time, but this early experiment has already validated the feasibility of a PodcastGPT.
My first goal was to provide the public with a source of information on Private Equity, but I see many more opportunities.
I’ve asked ChatGPT for some of them (I removed a few manually).
Why should a B2B brand create a GPT from its podcast content?
Creating a GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) model from podcast content can be a game-changing strategy for a B2B brand. Here's why:
1. Unlocking a Knowledge Vault
Podcasts are rich repositories of expertise, insights, and unique perspectives. By transforming this content into a GPT, the brand effectively creates a living knowledge base that:
Preserves thought leadership: Summarizes and distills key ideas from episodes.
Enhances accessibility: Makes insights searchable and available for on-demand interaction.
2. Enhancing Engagement and Interaction
A GPT allows audiences to engage with podcast content in a personalized, interactive way:
Dynamic Q&A: Users can query the model for specific insights or highlights from past episodes.
Self-guided exploration: Prospects, clients, and employees can dive into topics tailored to their needs without listening to hours of audio.
3. Amplifying Content Repurposing
A GPT model can power the next generation of content repurposing:
Automated content creation: Generate blog posts, social media updates, or newsletters based on podcast transcripts.
Personalized content suggestions: Recommend episode snippets, related blog posts, or further readings based on user queries.
4. Strengthening Brand Authority
Position the B2B brand as an innovator and leader in its industry:
Tech-forward branding: Show mastery of cutting-edge AI to solidify credibility.
Continuous value: Offer a resource that delivers insights even when the podcast isn’t actively being consumed.
5. Improving Lead Generation and Customer Retention
A GPT model can integrate seamlessly into the brand’s marketing and sales funnel:
Lead magnet: Offer access to the GPT as part of a gated resource for lead capture.
Customer support: Answer FAQs or provide onboarding content derived from episodes.
My previous guest, Dave Wallace, argued that every business should consider podcasting. Once that’s done, every podcast should have its own GPT.
